“Words are things, I’m convinced.
Someday we’ll be able to measure the power of words.”
Maya Angelou, American poet (1928 – 2014)
I’ve been fanatical about everything content, books, and magazines since primary school (cut to my eleven-year-old self, skipping lunch to organize my history teacher’s bookshelves). From editing a short press release to drafting a 1,000-word blog, I’m still driven today by the same joy for the written word.
Today, I’m working as a copyeditor for a major PR brand, studying toward my English degree (back to organizing those bookshelves), and running my own blog, Betenwrite.com, from which I contribute pieces to platforms like Medium and Thrive Global.
I’m tremendously passionate about the alignment of professional life with personal self, and a lot of the content on Betenwrite reflects this. The site’s design library, for instance, offers a growing collection of free résumé templates.
When I’m not working, studying, or blogging, you’ll usually find me hogging the quiet corner seat at a local coffee shop, flipping through a good book or magazine and spending way too much money on cinnamon lattes.
I love hearing from people who’ve found something useful here, so if that’s you, don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can also reach out to me to discuss options about personalized writing and editing services, including résumé writing and design, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
